Period Self-Care with Bettybox *

Bettybox is the UK's first monthly subscription box that focuses on that time of the month. The girls over at Betty Collective were kind enough to send me one of their boxes to try out and I couldn't be more excited!

What is Bettybox?

So if you haven't already guessed, Bettybox is a monthly subscription box for your period. It delivers your months supply or pads and/or tampons so that you never get caught out. As well as that, it also delivers a little box full of goodies for when you're feeling low. It's the ultimate period self-care box for when you're in need of a little pick-me-up! The best thing is, there are no contracts or commitments so you're free to cancel at any time.

The Bettybox is not only about sending girls their period essentials, it's also about empowering young  women and encouraging them to take control of their period. The box is designed primarily for teens, although any woman will be sure to benefit from the box and the products inside.

How much will I be paying?

Monthly: Recurring payment of £12.99 (cancel at any time)
3 Months: Recurring payment of £11.99
6 Months: One-off payment of £64.95 (receive one box free)

What does each box include?

Bettybox contains everything you need for a positive period experience. When ordering your box, you can choose your own period essential preferences. You have the choice between tampons and pads (or both) along with the absorbance size and delivery date each month. Bettybox really is tailored to each individual person and their needs, which is what makes it great!

Your period essentials are then packed into colourful pouches and boxes labelled 'for now', 'for night' and 'for later'.

There's also a 'for you' section which contains all the goodies you need to make your period a happy one. Unlike the essentials, this little box is filled to the brim with surprise goodies for you to enjoy and defeat the period blues. Each month you will receive a selection of beauty and lifestyle products, along with an edible treat to nibble on.

The 'for you' box is different each month and filled with treats to cheer you up on your period. Here's what was included in the July box:

Jelly Pong Pong Coffee & Coconut Lip Scrub - £15.00 (full size)

This scrub smells and tastes so good! You'd think that the best thing about it is that it's a full size product, although it's also 100% cruelty free AND it's free from parabens! I've been wanting to try a lip scrub for a while now so I'm so glad this product was included.

NPW Beauty Junky Makeup Sponge - £4.00 (full size)

I've been in need of a new beauty blender and this one is too cute! Personally, I don't like beauty blenders for applying foundation but they come in perfect for concealer.

Patisserie de Bain Hand Cream (Pineapple Paradise) - £3.99 (full size)

This tropical product smells amazing! It's the perfect size to keep in your bag to keep your hands feeling moisturised and smelling great. What's even better is that this product is vegan and made within the UK.

Candy Kittens Sour Watermelon - £1.00 (full size)

Another vegan product! These sour sweets contain real watermelon juice and are the ultimate sugar-fix.

Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighter - £4.50 (full size)

Powdered highlighter isn't something I use regularly use, and if I do I don't branch out. I've always stuck to the same two brands of highlighter since I started wearing it. This highlighter is amazing and leaves you with the perfect glow.

Vitamasques Sheet Face Mask - £3.99 (full size)

I haven't tried this product yet although I'm really excited to. This moisturising and clarifying mask is from a Korean inspired brand. Made from antibacterial tea tree oil, it's supposedly great for preventing breakouts. The aloe vera juice is also great for reducing any redness.

We Are Tea Moroccan Mint Tea - £2.99 for 15 bags

I'm not a fan of flavoured tea but I'm sure there's a lot of people out there that are and a warm, minty cup of tea may be just what you need whilst you're struggling with period cramps.

Is it worth it?

I've really enjoyed July's subscription box and I love the idea behind it! I did receive way too many period products for one month although it means I can stock up.

PACKAGING - I feel like the packaging could have been better. I love the colourfulness of the box, but it's too flimsy. Parts of it were already ripped slightly when it arrived. However, I do like that it's spit into 'for now', 'for night' and 'for later' sections and includes a funky bag to keep your tampons or pads in.

CONTENTS - Considering the contents of this box are worth over £30 (not including all the pads) and it's only £12.99, I'd definitely say it's worth it. I'm always sceptical of subscription boxes where you don't know what products you'll be receiving, but I was pleasantly surprised with the 'for you' box and feel like I can put every product to use.

PRICE - £12.99 for a box full of pads and over £30 worth of products is incredible! There's no denying that you're really getting your moneys worth with this box.
